Match Results:

(1) Alex Shelley beat Austin Aries and Robbie E. in a three-way #1 contender match to the X Division Title. Shelley won with a superkick in a good opening match. Robbie and Aries “teamed” against Shelley for most of the match.

(2) Knockouts champion Mickie James beat Winter to retain the Knockouts Title. Mickie successfully defended the title, beating Winter with a leaping DDT. This was the match of the night as far as I was concerned. The crowd was into the action and it was a pleasure to see the ladies be themselves and go at it in a less-controlled environment.

(3) Jeff Jarrett beat TV champion Eric Young in a non-title match. In the comedy match of the evening, Eric Young got a little confused and thought he was supposed to wrestle the ref, Brian Hebner. Young tagged in Jarrett to wrestle Hebner, and some pushing and shoving ensued. Hebner even hit a hip toss on Jarrett. Hebner tagged Young back in and the match started. Very entertaining. Always a pleasure to get to see EY in the ring. Jarrett won with The Stroke.

(4) TNA tag champions Mexican America (Hernandez & Anarquia) beat "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero & Devon to retain the Tag Titles. Mexican America won with a belt shot to Devon’s head.

Next up was Bully Ray vs. Mr. Anderson. Bully Ray came out and got some heat from the crowd, saying the women are ugly, the guys are fat, and the kids are retarded. Mr. Anderson came out to a big pop, but had no microphone dropping down from the ceiling. So, JB came into the ring with a chair and the mic. He stood on the chair and lowered the mic down into Anderson's hand. Cool little intro segment.

(5) Mr. Anderson beat Bully Ray. Anderson won with the Mic Check.

(6) TNA World Hvt. champion Kurt Angle beat A.J. Styles to retain the TNA World Title. Both contestants come out to big fan reactions. The match seemed to be rushed possibly to make more time for $20 photo-ops. Angle won with an Angle Slam after a low blow to A.J.

In a surprising turn of events, instead of Angle doing the in-ring photo-op, it was A.J. to close out the show.

Overall, everyone seemed to have a good time. Jimmy Jay threw out a lot of merchandise to the crowd throughout the evening. The amount of crowd noise was great for the size of the crowd. No piped-in cheers or boos needed in Burton, Ohio Friday night.

The match quality and lengths were better than what viewers are subjected to on Thursdays and most pay-per-views. It shows what a difference makes between who's writing the TV shows and who's running the house shows.
