(1) Santino & Vladimir Kozlov beat Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer. I was a little late, so I didn't get to see entrances, but, from what I heard, Santino got a surprisingly large pop and that was replicated during the match. The match itself was lackluster, at best, but it kept me intrigued nonetheless. Kozlov and Santino won after an okay match, with Santino hitting the Cobra Strike. (**)
They got a pretty big pop, but then Alberto Del Rio came out and attacked Santino and Kozlov. He then grabbed a mic and expressed his dislike of the fact that he was not facing Kane in the steel cage for the World Heavyweight Title and instead was facing Chavo Guerrero. He said he was going to destroy Guerrero before leaving the ring.
(2) Christian beat Tyler Reks. Reks came out first to legitimately no reaction. Christian then came out and received a huge pop. The match is hazy because I had some guy sitting in front of me standing up the whole time, but it was a good back and forth match from what I saw. The ending came when Christian hit the Killswitch out of nowhere. Literally, nowhere. I was looking at Christian, who was on the ground, I checked my phone quickly, and then he had Reks turned around for the Killswitch. (**1/2)
(3) The Bella Twins beat Lay-Cool. First, I must say the the Bella Twins look absolutely amazing in real life. Second, I was very surprised with this match. The match was extremely good. The Bellas got a lot of offense in, and at one point Nikki hit a nasty dropkick on Layla that was perfectly executed. There were several points where either Layla or Michelle, whichever one wasn't in the ring, would make sure the ref was distracted before attacking whichever Twin was in the ring. The Twins didn't get out without their signature switcheroo, though, as Nikki and Brie switched while the ref was scolding McCool. The finish came when Nikki rolled up Layla after Layla was distracted by McCool. Perhaps a sign of some tension?
(4) Great Khali beat The Dudebusters (Trent Barreta & Caylen Croft) in a handicap match. This match was terrible. It was a fairly slow-paced match with both of the Dudebusters afraid to enter the ring with Khali. It was a bathroom break for me, so I didn't see the ending, but I know that Khali won. (n/a)
(5) C.M. Punk beat MVP. The crowd was really into this match. Punk got huge heat. Punk cut a promo before the match basically insulting everyone in the arena and MVP. MVP made his entrance and C.M. Punk delayed as long as he possibly could before entering the ring. The match itself was very good. MVP hit his signature move on Punk, but the finish came when Punk reversed a clothesline attempt into the Go 2 Sleep. (***)
(6) Alberto Del Rio beat Chavo Guerrero via submission. The match itself was fairly boring, but the only reason I give this match the rating I give it is because Del Rio hit his finisher, which looks insane. It's the cross-arm breaker that he transfers into an armbar sumbmission hold. (**)
(7) Big Show beat World Hvt. champion Kane via DQ in a steel cage main event; Kane retained the World Title. This match again was pretty boring. The finish came when C.M. Punk came into the ring and slid a steel chair into the ring for Kane to use. Punk then did a dance around the ring, which was absolutely hilarious. Kane used the chair and was disqualified, therefore keeping his title. Afterward, Big Show beat down Punk. Punk later called out Big Show, and asked him to "Come out and fight Punk like a man," but Show never came out. (*1/2)
Biggest pops:
(1) Christian
(2) MVP
(3) Santino
Biggest heat:
(1) C.M. Punk
(2) Kane
(3) Alberto Del Rio
Other notes:
-The MassMutual Arena was about three-fourths full. I had seats in about the middle of the floor seats. There were only two of us, though, my girlfriend and me.
- The show itself was lackluster. The crowd was dead for most matches.
-By far, the best match was C.M. Punk vs. MVP, but the Lay-Cool vs. Bella Twins match was really good. I don't understand why The Bellas don't get that kind of exposure on TV. Instead, they're used as valets for the guest hosts.
- Merchandise was not as good as the other times I have been there. They had a lot of t-shirts, and the most popular ones were Nexus, Randy Orton's "Lobotomy" t-shirt (which I picked up), and Cena's orange "Never Give Up" t-shirt. I guess they haven't gotten Cena's new shirt yet. They also had some pendants and Rey Mysterio's armbands, but that was it. There were also souvenir cups for $2, but I didn't get any food.
