WWE Supershow house show results
June 19, 2010
New York City at Madison Square Garden
Report by Russell Tyson, PWTorch reader

WWE had a decent crowd with a handful of empty seats, which was kind of surprising. Good, typical MSG crowd energy. It was an excellent show overall.

(1) Intercontinental champion Kofi Kingston beat Drew McIntyre to retain the IC Title. Kofi retained with the SOS. After the match, Drew attempted a post-match attack, but Matt Hardy intervened for a two-on-one babyface beat down.

(2) MVP & Christian beat Straight Edge Society (Luke Gallows & Masked Man). Solid match; better than I anticipated.

(3) Kane beat C.M. Punk. Great promo from Punk beforehand. Tony Chimmel had to keep up his end of the deal after the Stanley Cup Finals by announcing Punk as "from the home of the Stanley Cup Champions." Kane won with a chokeslam in a solid match.

(4) U.S. champion The Miz beat R-Truth, Evan Bourne, and Mark Henry in a Fatal Four-way match to retain the U.S. Title. The Miz had a great, heated promo before the match started. Good match with a finish similar to the one from Monday's Raw. Miz picked up the scraps after Bourne hit the Air Bourne on R-Truth to score the win to retain.

(5) World Hvt. champion Jack Swagger beat Big Show in a No DQ match to retain the World Hvt. Title. The crowd was really into Big Show. Swagger won after Kane ran out and chokeslammed Show. After the match, Swagger took a chokesklam from Kane and a right hand from Show.

[Intermission]

(6) Divas champion Eve Torres & Bella Twins beat Co-Women's champions Lay-Cool (Michelle McCool & Layla) & Maryse in a six-Divas tag match. During the match, a "This is stupid" chant broke out, followed by a "TNA" chant. Only in the Big Apple. Okay match. Eve picked up the win for her team with some kind of spinning neckbreaker on Maryse.

(7) Randy Orton beat Edge. Very good back-and-forth match with Randy picking up the win with the RKO.

(8) WWE champion John Cena beat Sheamus to retain the WWE Title. Cena retained in a good match. At the end, Wade Barrett and NXT Rookies came out to jump Cena. The WWE Superstars then came out to fight them off just like on Monday.

Biggest Pops: Kofi, Big Show, Randy Orton, Edge, John Cena, and Kane. The biggest went to Cena, with Orton a close second.

Most Heat: C.M Punk, Drew Mac, The Miz, Jack Swagger, and Sheamus.
