Los Angeles, Calif. at the Staples Center
Report by Alexander Josephs and Matt Massingham, PWTorch.com readers
(1) Intercontinental champion C.M. Punk beat William Regal. Good opener, way better than their TV matches. Lots of matwork. Punk had one of the bigger reactions of the night being the first babyface out for the show.
(2) World tag team champions John Morrison & The Miz beat Cryme Tyme (JTG & Shad Gaspard) when Morrison hit the Moonlight Drive on Shad.
(3) Mark Henry beat Tommy Dreamer. Felt like a long match, but both worked hard in the ring.
(4) Women's champion Melina beat Beth Phoenix. Santino came out first and cut a promo about Valentine's Day. He was gold on the mic, then Beth reprimanded him. The match was fine for what it was.
(5) Big Show beat The Brian Kendrick. This was neat, as Kendrick came out and said it's b.s. that he lives 10 minutes from the arena and didn't have a match. He said Ezekiel Jackson was the best big man in the biz, which led to Big Show coming out and squashing him. It was frying-pan chop to the chest, chokeslam, and pin.
(6) ECW champion Jack Swagger vs. Finlay was just a brawl and no match ever took place. There was a point when Swagger was aiming to hit Finlay with the chair and many people were hoping that Christian would make an appearance but no avail. Afterwards, Finlay brought kids into the ring to dance with Hornswoggle. Very let down that we didn't get to see a match between the two.
(7) Rey Mysterio & Shawn Michaels beat Randy Orton & Kane. Very good tag match. Finish was Rey hitting the double 619 on the heels, then Kane walked into Sweet Chin Music from Michaels for the pin.
(8) WWE World Heavyweight champion John Cena beat Chris Jericho in a steel cage. Prior to the match, Jericho cut a promo that it's a good thing there's a cage in between him and the fans otherwise he would go after every man, woman, and child in the entire audience. This match had lots of fun spots. The finish was Cena dragging Jericho off the top of the cage, then giving him the FU (Attitude Adjustor) from the top rope to the center of the ring. It was awesome and unexpected Jericho would take such a hard bump on a house show.
Notes: Candice Michelle was the host of the show and asked a fan trivia questions to upgrade him to front row.
