TNA house show results
November 1, 2008
Anaheim, Calif.
Report by Matt Massingham, PWTorch correspondent

At the Anaheim Convention Center, the show drew about 1,000 fans. Not much local advertising other than a brief ad in the Los Angeles Times, so many people attended due to word of mouth. Audience was mainly kids and parents, but a strong contingent of PWG fans made the trip from Burbank to Anaheim after PWG's afternoon show. Rumor is that TNA might run a PPV in Southern California next year, hopefully with a stronger ad campaign to draw more fans.

(1) Sonjay Dutt beat Tanahashi and Consequences Creed in a three-way match. No Val in So Cal. Very disappointing. Dutt won with a 450 splash on Creed.

(2) LAX (Homicide & Hernandez) beat Curry Man & Eric Young. Hernandez is a big dude. Homicide won with a frog splash on Curry Man. Afterward, kids danced with Curry, then Homicide danced.

(3) Awesome Kong beat Roxxi in a no DQ match to retain the Knockouts Title. Not anything special in the No DQ department. Just a little crowd brawling. Kong scored the pin with implant buster.

(4) A.J. Styles beat Christian Cage. Before match, Christian put over Styles as one of his favorite wrestlers to wrestle. About a 15 minute match. Styles rolled through a pin attempt into the Styles Clash for the win. Afterward, Styles talked up the Main Event Mafia angle and said they need Christian. Christian teased a response, but then he threw the mic down and walked away.

(5) Team 3D beat TNA tag team champions Robert Roode & James Storm in a non-title tables match. Beer Money did not want to put the belts on the line, so 3D got their wish of having a tables match. Just like last night in Ontario, 3D wrestled as the babyface team. Finish was Storm accidentally superkicking Roode and then Storm turned around and took a 3D through a table.

(6) Samoa Joe beat Kurt Angle. Angle was super popular with the crowd. Joe also had a very strong reaction. Both were superstars, but Angle had a little stronger reaction. Really good 15 minute match. Angle hit the Olympic Slam, but Joe hit the Muscle buster for the win.

Afterward, Joe said he may hate Angle's guts, but he still respects him. Joe announced the locker room was coming out. Everyone came out and people could take photos with Angle for $20.

Overall: A surprisingly really good show, as TNA let the wrestlers wrestle and do their thing in the ring. They'll have to do more significant advertising in the future if they want to draw for a PPV potentially next year.
