SHOW SUMMARY: This week’s Deep Dive is a dive into the historical calls announcers have made in wrestling history. Kylin Furlow joins to discuss his favorites, and callers chimed in with their calls as well. Kylin then gave awards out – The Jim Ross Award for best individual Announcing, The Bobby Heenan Award for best announcing sidekick/color commentator, and then Kylin’s background in terms of watching wrestling, listening to announcers, and promotions that stand out. Kylin also goes into the bios and key traits of modern announcers, and moments that stood out for Kylin, including Jim Ross at King of the Ring 1998 and the year-long Ric Flair retirement angle. They finish with Rich and Kylin’s thoughts on the Greatest Royal Rumble, with Rich’s opinion on the optics and business of the decision WWE made to do the show.
