SHOW SUMMARY: In this episode of the Deep Dive, which is a joint venture with the Bruce Mitchell Audio Show, Bruce and PWTorch Dailycast host Rich Fann talk about Starrcast 4 including Cody, Ding Dongs, Mark Madden, Colt Cabana, Tony Schiavone’s Birthday, Lois Schiavone’s Dorm, and – for the first time in 30 years – Jim and David Crockett. Then, in a special VIP-only bonus portion, Daniel Palmer (@dpalm66) of the MTRNetwork joins in the first part to talk about the genesis of the idea we went with for the show – how WWE/AEW and others are similar to Transformers, and how the convention culture we’ve seen in other areas of nostalgia and fandom serve to explain the fun and success of Starrcasts (of which Rich is currently attending). Derek Montilla of TheSteelCage and also Diamondbacks baseball coverage tags in and continues the chat, and goes in a completely different direction than DPalm did. This was a fun, albeit expletive-laden look into fandom, collective fandom, and how they all intersect!
