SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
IC champion Dean Ambrose delivered a passionate in-character speech/promo in this week’s WWE website interview with Michael Cole.
Ambrose pitched a WWE Title match against Triple H at WrestleMania, saying he thinks he can beat Hunter on the biggest stage. Ambrose said when it was just the two of them at the end of the Royal Rumble match, he could feel the WWE Title on the tip of his tongue. He said Hunter beat him – fair and square – by tossing him over the top rope, “but not by kicking my ass.”
Asked how he feels about having to face his “brother in arms,” Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar at Fast Lane to get there, Ambrose said he and Reigns will always fight each other and continue to be brothers. He then dismissed Lesnar’s intimidating labels as “marketing” and said he’ll take 20, 30, 35 suplexes in the match, but he’ll keep getting up, while Lesnar will wear out and become vulnerable.
– Also on WWE’s website, WWE released a brief backstage interview from Monday’s Raw with The Rock and The Usos talking about family (which includes Reigns).
Rock talked out-of-character to Renee Young about The Usos working hard every night to connect with the people. He said it was nice to come back to WWE and support his family.
Rock also talked about his cousin, Nia Jax, starting out at NXT. Rock said she will work hard like the rest of their family and he expects her to connect with the crowd, too.
