•Latest TV Highlights
Monday Night Raw
- Raw’s main event was a Women’s Championship showcase match that put Bayley and Becky together to take on the Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross in a non-title match. Earlier in the night, Charly Caruso interviewed Bayley to help promote the main event. Charly asked about Sasha’s return, Bayley simply responded that Sasha is her best friend, but she won’t talk about what they talk about because it’s personal. Charly shifted focus to Becky noting that the spotlight will be on her and that she’s the face of the women’s division, not Bayley. Bayley responded saying she doesn’t agree with that because her title means just as much as Becky’s. Fast forward to the match, after a couple of minutes, Sasha Banks makes her way to ringside. After a few more minutes of the match, Sasha got into the ring and hit Becky with a back stabber from behind causing a disqualification. Sasha then grabbed a chair and hit Becky with it twice before Bayley grabbed the chair away from Sasha. Sasha said a few words to Bayley, who looked conflicted. Bayley then had a grin come across her face and she bashed Becky with the chair a few times herself to a huge cheer.
- Raw featured a new installment of the Firefly Funhouse. Bray started by saying what The Fiend did to Finn Balor was super super rude and behalf of everyone in the Funhouse, he’s sorry. The Vince McMahon demon doll appeared and started yelling at him, “How dare you challenge Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman to a match at Hell in a Cell, do you know how valuable they are to me?” Bray pulled out some money and waved it in the doll’s face before feeding it to him. The Vince doll passed out from the ecstasy. Ramblin’ Rabbit appeared while Bray was talking holding a “HELP” sign and Bray casually pushed him down under the table in front of him. Bray said that The Fiend helps him to inflict pain. The Fiend flashed on the screen for a second. Bray Wyatt appeared again and said “See you in hell” before laughing as his smile turned sinister. Bray snapped out of it and smiled a big smile and waving bye as the Firefly Funhouse music played.
Smackdown Live
- Roman Reigns found out who his attacker was once and for all and it wasn’t Daniel Bryan. After the spear last week, Bryan was still demanding an apology, so in the final segment of Smackdown Bryan came to the ring and demanded Reigns apologize to him for the false accusations, the spear, and most importantly calling him a liar. Roman came out and as he was walking down the ramp he was attacked by Erick Rowan. After attacking him for a moment, Rowan grabbed a microphone and said the joke is on Reigns before turning to Bryan. Rowan said Bryan can’t control him and after slapping him over and over last week, he dared Bryan to do it again. Rowan kneeled next to Roman and said he was proud of the two attacks, but he’s most proud of the pain Roman will feel at Clash of Champions. He threw Roman back out of the ring and into the ringside steps. As Rowan cleared the announce table, Bryan ran up and yelled “I’m your friend” and slapped Rowan. Rowan then gave Bryan a Claw Slam through the announce table. Rowan yelled “Nobody tells me what to do! Never again!”
- Bayley opened Smackdown this week doing her usual entrance with the “Bayley Buddies,” but she didn’t high five any fans on her way to the ring (good touch) and came out to a very mixed reaction. She said people were shocked by what she did, but Sasha is her best friend and they’ve always had each other’s backs. She said nothing has changed and she’s still trying to show them the kind of champion she wants to be including giving people opportunities and lift the division up. She said she’s tried to make fans feel like she did when she was a kid and she’s teaching kids the value of loyalty, which is why she stuck with Sasha. Charlotte interrupted as Bayley turned her focus to her and their match at Clash of Champions. Charlotte said people say a lot about her, but what you see is what you get, there’s no confusion of blind-siding and there’s definitely no hugging. Sasha interrupted. Charlotte attacked Bayley before Sasha got to the ring to try and get the one up on being outnumbered. Charlotte was beating up Sasha when Bayley reentered the fray and hit her with a chair three times. Sasha then took the chair and hit Bayley three times, then Bayley hit her one more time. The fans chanted Becky, but Bayley’s music played to end the segment.

Sad? No. Hungry ? Yes. I want to do it all. Have the long ass matches, do the fun segments backstage. Be cruiserweight champ. Be 24/7 champ. Be universal champ. So no I’m not sad. I’m incredibly hungry. https://t.co/gdNyN6EoaW

I disagree 100% with this. Edge did it. Angle did it. Austin did it. https://t.co/SuZoZAJj8G

Samoa Joe truly lives his gimmick 24/7.
Is it weird I’m less upset about trolling, but more upset at how garbage most people are at it? Where’s the nuance, the art? For context, 7 yrs ago a man texted my phone by accident thinking I was his estranged Uncle Brian. I have been giving this dude bad life advice ever since.

•Closing Commentary
– That Ricochet-Samoa Joe match finish was complete garbage. I’m so tired of Triple Threat matches. Why are we having a Triple Threat match in the King of the Ring Tournament next week? Playoff/Tournament games do not end in ties in literally any type of sport. WWE has spent months doing this reset and restart crap, but they don’t do it here? That was, as Randy Orton would say, “STUPID!” If anything, they could’ve made it a double disqualification and they’re both eliminated giving Baron Corbin even more heel heat because he gets a free pass to the finals. Better yet, just restart the match like you’ve been doing and have an actual winner like every sport on every competitive level. This is not complicated and it’s a B.S. “finish” to have Joe and Ricochet end in a cheesy tie where they’re both laying on the mat with an arm touching the other person. Then the referee gets on a headset with who-the-hell-knows and conveniently it’s a live microphone to television and not just the guys in the back, so we can hear his incoherent rambling of “I’ll take that under advisement.” If we’ve had replay in WWE, how do we have so many matches in with stupid finishes? Why imitate the NFL and NBA with the replay official gimmick if you’re never going to use it again? Where was this magical replay official last week when A.J. faked being hit with a chair by Braun? That would’ve been an easy replay to go to and restart the match. Dumb. I hated this in so many ways.
