Last night’s episode (6/5) of WWE Smackdown Live drew a 1.54 rating among live and same-night-DVR viewers, the lowest rating since June 13, 2017, nearly a full year ago. The show headlined with The New Day vs. Rusev & Samoa Joe & The Miz and included Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch and the A.J. Styles-Shinsuke Nakamura contract signing.
One year ago this week, Smackdown drew a 1.63 rating. Two years ago this week, Smackdown drew a 1.51 rating.
The 1.54 this week is below the ten-week rolling average heading into this week of 1.76 (which included the WrestleMania season boost) and the May average of 1.63.
Viewership was 2.138 million, down 57,000 from last week and down 814,000 from the peak rating back on Apr. 10 the week after WrestleMania.
Going back to last week’s episode, which drew a 1.57 rating, Smackdown finished no. 15 among all cable shows in viewership among 18-49 year olds for the week of May 28-June 3.
Raw’s three hours finished no. 8, 9, and 11 last week in that key demo. To put in perspective the ratings, only seven other shows drew more than Raw’s first hour last week in the 18-49 demo, but it wasn’t even close when it comes to which show finished no. 1. The NBA’s Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets game that went up against Raw last week drew 7.283 million viewers in that key demo, seven times more than Raw’s average in that demo. Game Two of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs finished no. 3 with 1.690 million in that demo, and Game Three on Saturday drew 1.421 million in that demo.
