12/13 WWE NXT in Blackpool, England – Regal returns home, NXT Title match, more

(1) NXT tag champions Dash & Dawson beat Enzo Amore & Big Cass. Good match, but it did look like both teams were holding back. The crowd was firmly behind Enzo and Cass.

(2) Asuka beat Alexa Bliss. A solid match but the crowd didn’t seem to get into it.

(3) Bull Dempsey beat Tye Dillinger. The comedy match of the night. Plenty of crowd interaction and both guys worked their parts very well.

(4) Jason Jordan & Chad Gable beat Blake & Murphy. It took a long time to get this one started, but a great tag match when it did. Almost non-stop chanting for Jordan and Gable throughout.

NXT GM William Regal addressed his hometown crowd hyping NXT as a brand, and his start in the town.

(5) Nia Jax beat Carmella. Very short match, so it’s hard to tell how invested the crowd would have been.

(6) Samoa Joe beat Apollo Crews. Very strong back and forth match. I think this is the most impressed I’ve seen from Joe since he joined NXT.

(7) NXT Women’s champion Bayley beat Emma (w/Dana Brooke). The crowd were firmly behind Bayley. Well-worked match, although it never really looked like Emma would win.

(8) NXT champion Finn Balor beat Baron Corbin and Sami Zayn in a three-way match. The crowd was split between Balor and Zayn, with ‘Anyone but Corbin’ chants breaking out. Sami was in good shape after his injury and had good chemistry in the ring with Balor.

Also, Robbie Brookside addressed the crowd, talking about how he got his start in Blackpool, too, then hyped the progress NXT has made and will continue to make.

Biggest Pops: Jordan and Gable, William Regal, Sami Zayn.
