– WWE NETWORK HIGHLIGHTS: No new content on Thursday. WWE is re-airing a lot of original content from earlier in the week, plus a Raw vs. Nitro flashback to January 15, 1996. Raw had The Undertaker vs. Isaac Yankem (ahem, Kane) before they were brothers and early-days Steve Austin vs. Matt Hardy. – The latest UFC fighter to call out C.M. Punk is John “Doomsday” Howard. Howard, who is fighting on the prelims of Thursday night’s “UFC Fight Night” card, said why he wants to fight Punk in an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated.
“Phil Brooks got a pass to the UFC because of his notoriety,” said Howard. “Maybe he is a legit caliber UFC fighter, but I want to be the guy he fights to prove he belongs in the UFC. I’m smaller than him. He’s a middleweight and I’m a welterweight, but I’ll come up in weight. If he whips my butt, I’ll eat my words–but let’s see him prove it against me.”
– Bret Hart is heading back to the U.K. for a one-man event in April 2016. Hart has been booked by Triple M Promotions for a speaking engagement at Cardiff City Stadium on April 21. Included will be a photo & autograph session, meal, auctions, and Q&A session. [ Ticket Package Info ]
– WWNLive announced their return to New York in March. The EVOLVE show will take place at La Boom in Queens, N.Y. on Mar. 19. Tickets go on-sale on Friday. Next up for WWNLive is the EVOLVE 53-55 tour in January in Florida.
– New Japan Pro Wrestling announced a new theme song collection CD featuring 15 tracks. “NJPW Greatest Music Vol. 4” will be released on January 13, 2016. The pre-sale info & track list can be found at NJPW.co.jp.
