SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

We asked yesterday which wrestler you’d like to see get a bigger push in WWE. Here’s the second batch of your picks…

Elliott R.: Dean Ambrose should get a mega push and tone down the “crazy” antics. He’s exciting to watch in the ring, he’s good on the mic, and he has a roughness to him that most of the newer, squeaky clean guys lack. He’s also been given terrible things to do on television, and still found a way to make them work. When I think of who should be in the world title picture, I think of who could possibly hang with Brock Lesnar, a provoked, aggressive, Ambrose coming out swinging for a second wind in a major match with Lesnar, would not only be exciting, but could be taken seriously.

Derrick from Utah: Give Cesaro the push. If I had any say in the matter, Cesaro would receive a strong push this fall. First of all, with John Cena out of the fold for two months, someone needs to be selected to fill the void. Cesaro has main event size, which Dean Ambrose and many other do not. Cesaro does not have any in ring limitations, which Reigns and Ryback cannot claim. When he wears the suit, he carries himself as a main event guy.  When the suit comes off, he has an impressive physique. Furthermore, his style in the ring has the stop and watch effect.  I can see a channel surfer stopping and watching Raw as they witness Cesaro dead lift a 300 pound guy off the ground or make a full rotation sprint around the ring to plaster his opponent with an uppercut. The above components make him a possible draw for the more casual viewers or the fringe viewers of the product. For the diehards, an elevation of Cesaro has a organic grassroots beginning. A concentrated push from humble beginnings to the main event would be a journey that the fans could share with Cesaro.  The ardent fans would grin seeing him win and would receive some comfort in knowing that the WWE does have the capability of listening to the fans and seceding to their demands under the right circumstances.

Darryl from Tulsa, Okla.: Titus O’Neill. I really think they could get him involved in a meaningful singles program that fans would get behind. I don’t think they should break up the Prime Time Players permanently, but I’d like to see Titus (and Darren Young, for that matter) break away from a singles feud. For instance, what about Titus vs. Kevin Owens? It’s a chance to elevate Titus, but also give Owens a strong win where he could look stronger at the end and have more heat on him. I just feel that Titus has one singles run in him at an upper-card level. If he catches fire with the fans, then keep up there with another feud. If he doesn’t connect at that level with fans or he doesn’t look good in the ring, it’s easy enough to move him back into the tag team division.

  1. Ambrose has gotten lazy and boring.

Titus is old, and only cares about getting WWE good PR instead of working on his character and getting better in the ring.

Cesaro is worth a push, but can’t seem to figure out his character. He needs to stop changing things every two weeks. WWE isn’t helping him out much though.
