SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
SMACKDOWN PRIMER
AUGUST 29, 2017
LITTLE ROCK, ARK. AT VERIZON ARENA

“THE PATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS MAN”
Jinder Mahal may have walked out of Summerslam as the WWE Champion, but he has severely pissed off Shinsuke Nakamura. Nak received some redemption when he destroyed the Maharaja’s lackeys last week in a handicap match. A tiny price to pay for helping their fearless leader remain on top of the blue brand. Jinder has promised to respond to these actions tonight, and possibly set up another showdown with the artist formerly known as the king of strong style.
“AS SUBTLE AS A CAR WRECK”
Do you think that they’re going to run a Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon feud? Well if Summerslam didn’t spell that out for you SD Live ensured this future angle by pounding it over our heads with a sledgehammer. On the final night in Brooklyn, Kevin Owens and A.J. Styles AGAIN faced off for the United States championship, and yes, again there were shenanigans. This time, K.O. hired the likes of Baron Corbin to be the special guest referee hoping that if he promised the Lone Wolf a future title shot, Baron would make the “right” call. However, Baron did what Baron usually does which is get pissed off and piss everyone off. So he left. This brought out Shane’O’Mac who declared himself the official once again. Styles would go on to win the matchup, and an irate Owens will once again claim he was screwed. This all began when A.J. claimed he would be holding an open challenge. Let’s hope…for the love of all that is holy…that these two are done, and both can move forward away from what has been a very disappointing couple months.
“TUESDAY NIGHTS HAVE BECOME GLORIOUS”
-The most exciting man in sports entertainment will now grace our TV screens on Tuesday nights. Bobby Roode may be in the prime of his career, and fortunately for us he enters the main roster picture with loads of momentum after a magnificent run in NXT. Roode was able to defeat the entertaining Aiden English last week with ease, so it will be exciting to see who his first main roster feud will be against. It actually doesn’t matter who it is, because as long as he has that legendary theme song, people will cheer for the Glorious One.
-Xavier Woods is rumored to have been injured at last night’s SD house show. Whether this delays the Unicorn Trains tag-title rematch against the Usos will remain to be seen. If anything, Big E and Kofi Kingston will have to represent the New Day.
-Speaking of tag teams, tonight should be the reveal of who has been attacking Tyler Breeze and Fandango. However, WWE has teased us before that the perpetrators will be revealed, so don’t be surprised if they leave you hanging again. If not…my guess is it’s Luke Harper and Erick Rowan…since….you know….they’re like….the only two guys left. (Unless the Hype Bros turn heel.)
-Natalya may be the Women’s champion, but she’ll need to have a third eye because Carmella is DYING to cash-in that money in the bank briefcase. The two teamed up last week but the dissension was more then obvious.
-Bobby Roode wasn’t the only debut/return last week. SHELTON BENJAMIN IS BACK, and better yet, HE’S TEAMING WITH CHAD GABLE. I almost feel bad for Jason Jordan, because there is no way he will get as popular as this team is about to be. We’re supposed to see the new Alpha in action tonight, but word is Shelton may not be on the show because of his family that lives in Houston. Best wishes to him, his family, and everyone else who’ve been affected by the horrific hurricane.
-A lot of speculation on Rusev asking for his release turned out to be entirely fake. The Bulgarian Brute still has a bone to pick with the Randy Orton. That is…if he doesn’t get RKO’d again.
-Tamina and Lana are doing things! Where is Tye Dillinger, and when will Sami Zayn be given a worthy storyline?
-Dolph Ziggler returns tonight, and promises that he will bring the same nonsense that everyone else does in an effort to reintroduce himself as someone we care about. (MEH.)
-205 after sees Enzo Amore in tag-team action with the likes of Cedric Alexander and Gran Metalik as they face Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, and Noam Dar. ONE OF THESE THINGS IS NOT LIKE THE OTHER.
