SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
NXT PREVIEW
AUGUST 23, 2017
TAPED 8/19 IN BROOKLYN, N.Y.

“PRELIMINARY CITY BAY BAY”
Tonight’s episode of NXT was filmed right before Takeover III on the first night that the WWE was in Brooklyn. Here is what you can expect from said taping:
-No Way Jose will be in action against Lars Sullivan. Jose’s momentum has slowed down tremendously, and he most recently ate a loss to Andrade Cien Almas. Lars meanwhile has had a history of bad luck with tag-team partners, and looks to release some animosity by fighting on his own.
-One half of the dynamic duo Peyton Royce will be squaring off against a Mae Young Classic competitor in Sarah Logan. Royce has vastly improved in the ring and on the microphone and it will be awesome to see her work with the very talented Logan in front of a hot crowd that isn’t Full Sail.
-The main event of the taping involves the United Kingdom superstars! U.K. The Bruiserweight and current U.K. Champion Pete Dunne teams up with the big Scotsman Wolfgang as they take on former champion Tyler Bate and the fella from Mustache Mountain Trent Seven. We haven’t really seen much of these guys since the early tapings following Bate and Dunne’s classic in Chicago, but with WWE’s roster continuing to grow I would hope that they get more involved in the NXT scene. Apparently the crowd reaction to this matchup was insane and, considering the talent involved, this should be a fine closing to what has been a very up and down visit to the Barclays Center.
New tapings occur this Thursday, so starting next week we’ll really break down the big occurrences from Takeover, like the debut of Adam Cole, Asuka’s injury, the new tag champs and new NXT champion Drew Mcintyre!
