SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
TNA Impact Wrestling last night on Pop TV dipped below 300,000 for the live and same night DVR delayed viewing of the show – 284,000 to be exact. That is down from a previous five week average of 350,000 and a ten week average of 346,000.
This could be an aberration, but it also could be part of a trend. The September viewership average ranged from 337,000 to 377,000 with an average of 359,000, which was up from the 340,000 average in August. The average the first two weeks in October is down to 294,000. That’s a huge percentage dropoff and kills off any sense they had built momentum headed into Bound for Glory.
Keller’s Analysis: This is bad timing for TNA as they’re in the midst of a bitter internal battle over ownership of the company with Billy Corgan and Dixie Carter battling it out in the courts. I suppose if the perceived value of TNA drops, it could help one or the other’s cause. I want to hear from you if you were were watching Impact Wrestling and have stopped in recent weeks. Are you watching NFL games instead, or other first-run Network programming, or are you among those who have helped boost political news channels because of the drama surrounding the presidential candidates? Or has there been a change in TNA’s show that has caused you to stop watching as much as you had been in prior weeks. Send to kellerwade@gmail.com.
I stop watching because they put the title on Eddie Edwards and they keep bringing in wwe talent and pushing them to the moon instead of guys like Bennent.
