This was a Sunday afternoon show prior to the Minnesota Vikings’s home opener in their new stadium…
(1) Rich Swann beat Tino Sabbatelli in the opener.
(2) Peyton Royce beat Daria.
(3) Hideo Itami beat Austin Aries. Aries got “Packers Suck” chants after being announced from Wisconsin. Aries wore Zubas, which Itami yanked down and then hit his finisher to win. A mix of comedy and signature spots.
(4) “Glorious” Bobby Roode beat “Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger. The crowd was more into cheering “10” than “glorious.” Good job by the wrestlers getting the crowd reaction to match the characters. Roode got the pin after a low blow and finisher.
Roode attacked Dillinger afterward, but Dillinger retaliated and left to his music. Roode was left lying KO’ed for an extended period of time to laughs.
[Intermission]
(5) Shane Haste of TM61 beat NXT tag champion Dash (w/Dawson, who was injured). The Revival tried a Minneapolis joke that fell flat because they were in St. Paul. The ring announcer read from a script and announced TM61 as the winners (or he did not know which one won). Long rest holds during the match made the crowd restless.
(6) NXT Women’s champion Asuka submitted Ember Moon. Best match of the night to this point. Solid, not great by any means.
(7) NXT champion Shinsuke Nakamura & No Way Jose beat Samoa Joe & Riddick Moss in the main event. Moss turned heel on his native Minnesota in a pre-match promo. Shinsuke then pinned Moss. Joe abandoned Moss in disgust afterward. The crowd loved both faces.
