Rhodes said he woke up one day and realized that the shadow he did not mind being in (Dusty Rhodes) was no longer there. So, he bet on himself to be his own man.

In the EVOLVE storylines, Rhodes turned down an offer to join Drew Galloway’s faction raiding against EVOLVE, saying no one owns him.
