The first official Smackdown Live episode of the new era got off to a slow start in social media activity Tuesday night.
WWE Smackdown Social Media Tracking
July 26: Smackdown Live generated about half of the tweets of last week’s Live Smackdown/Draft special and Monday’s Raw on July 25.
Smackdown’s metrics were 133,000 tweets and 33,000 unique authors.
Last week’s SD/Draft produced 279,000 tweets. Also, Monday’s Raw generated exactly two times that of Smackdown with 266,000 tweets.
Raw’s extra hour inflates their social activity compared to Smackdown, but Smackdown’s average was down significantly…
– Smackdown’s unique authors of 33k compares to 49k last Tuesday night and 47k for Raw.
The numbers translate to 4.0 tweets per person for Smackdown Live, 5.7 tweets last Tuesday, and 5.7 tweets Monday night on Raw.
– Smackdown ranked #2 in Nielsen’s Twitter TV Ratings on Tuesday night, trailing the Democratic National Convention. Smackdown finished ahead of “The Bachelorette” on ABC, which topped Raw on Monday night with a lot more social media activity.
