WWE Raw TV News & Notes 7/11
– Mr. McMahon returned to WWE TV in the final segment of Raw to announce his decision on who will be running Raw and Smackdown. The decision was Shane McMahon running Smackdown and Stephanie McMahon running Raw. Both will pick individuals to oversee operations next week on the final Raw before the Draft.
– WWE champion Dean Ambrose cut one of his best career promos opposite Seth Rollins, who continued to dog Roman Reigns ahead of The Shield’s three-way WWE Title match at Battleground. Before Battleground, though, a WWE Title match of Ambrose vs. Rollins was booked for next Monday’s Raw.
– WWE followed up on Brock Lesnar’s UFC 200 victory by showing still-photos of his fight against Mark Hunt and clips of Lesnar’s post-fight press conference discussing Summerslam, where he faces Randy Orton.
WWE announced that Orton will return to WWE TV on the Battleground PPV, as part of a “Highlight Reel” interview segment with Chris Jericho.
– John Cena made Raw in Detroit after spending the day in Los Angeles preparing for the ESPYs. WWE set it up as The Club, including A.J. Styles, thinking they had a clear beat down opportunity on Enzo Amore & Big Cass since Styles wasn’t at the building, but Cena surprised the crowd with a big save.
– WWE tag champions New Day and The Wyatts took their feud out of the ring to the “Wyatts Compound” for a night-time brawl that drew comparisons to TNA’s “Final Deletion” bit six days earlier.
– Darren Young won a #1 contender battle royal to get an Intercontinental Title shot against The Miz at Battleground.
– Announced for Smackdown: D-Young on Miz TV to set up their title feud.
– No ESPNews SportsCenter segment was announced for this week.
