SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
Former WWE star Dave Bautista appeared on Tuesday night’s edition of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC promoting the new James Bond “Spectre” movie due out Friday.
Bautista mainly talked about how he got the role of the silent assassin henchman, “Mr. Hinx.” He also joked about having one line in the movie when his audition consisted of a long dialogue scene.
There was a brief discussion of wrestling, specifically when Bautista started as a pro wrestler. Bautista noted he started at the top wrestling Triple H in his first TV match, but he was saddled with an “awful” and “goofy” gimmick as Deacon Dave walking around with a collection box. Bautista noted that fans actually put money in the box. Kimmel replied that the seeds of playing a Bond movie henchman were planted way back in his WWE TV debut.
The conversation finished with a discussion of Bautista’s vintage lunchbox collection.
Overall, Bautista seemed nervous in the talk-show setting, but Kimmel guided him through the five-minute interview sandwiched in-between a lengthier Sharon Stone interview and Jason Aldean musical performance.
