– ESPN jumped from WWE to New Japan and Lucha Underground in their coverage of pro wrestling on Wednesday.
The final segment of ESPN’s “Highly Questionable” show on Wednesday afternoon featured the hosts discussing the buzz-worthy Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet match from New Japan’s “Best of the Super Jrs.” tournament.
Included was footage of the spectacular, opening high-flying sequence. The side text on the screen read: “Korakuen Wrestling,” referring to the show taking place at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

– Klay Thompson and the Golden St. Warriors advanced to the NBA Finals on Monday night with a victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
But, Klay’s dad, former NBA star Mychal Thompson, was not watching the game because he was too nervous.
Mychal said he grabbed In-N-Out (strong decision) and watched WWE Raw (depends on which part of the show he watched) to take his mind off the game.
“I went to In-N-Out to grab a burger and I couldn’t eat it, so I had to let it sit there for three hours,” Thompson told ESPN Radio. “I was too nervous. I was watching wrestling, knowing that the game was going on. So that was to take my mind off of the game a little bit.”
– The New England Patriots official website profiled NXT women’s star Carmella, who is a former Patriots cheerleader.
Carmella talked about wanting to be NXT Women’s champion, not thinking about getting into wrestling until she took a try-out offer, and growing as a wrestler.
“I never thought it was something I could even do. I never thought it was a possibility. I never thought it was something I could train for and do,” she said. “I thought, ‘Oh My God, what a challenge.’ I had 10 tryouts and kept making the cut, and I found myself in the WWE Performance Center in Orlando and I’ve been there for two and a half years.”
