SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
WWE NXT scout/trainer William Regal revealed details on a major neck procedure earlier this month.
Regal said that he underwent a laminectomy to repair the C-3 through C-6 vertebrae running down the back of his neck.
“I’m slowly on the mend,” Regal tweeted. “I mean this in all sincerity that I’m not one for sympathy so please no need to tell me ‘Best wishes’ and the like. It’s just part of the life I’ve choose and wouldn’t change a thing.”
Regal suggested that his wrestling career is likely over following the surgery. “The only thank you is from me to you for allowing me to entertain you for the last 32 years,” Regal tweeted.
WWE’s website also released an interview with Regal discussing the surgery. Regal said he will miss WWE’s European Tour in November, but he is determined to make the NXT tour in December.
Regal also tweeted a graphic photo of post-surgery scarring.
