SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
Head or hand? Drunk or not drunk?
The details are sketchy on Ric Flair involved in a medical incident Wednesday morning at Logan International Airport in Boston.
TMZ initially reported the story when Flair was treated for a cut prior to boarding his flight home after Tuesday night’s Smackdown TV taping in New Hampshire.
One account is Flair was treated for an injury to his hand. Another account is he was treated for an injury to his head, which would match what was seen Monday night on Raw when Flair appeared to have an open cut on his forehead.
The other aspect is whether Flair was drunk or not drunk at the time of the Wednesday morning incident. Witnesses say Flair was spotted in the airport lounge prior to his flight. However, Flair’s spokesperson said Flair was not drinking at the lounge.
The bottom line is Flair got on his flight home from Boston after being cleared to fly by airport security. (Photos & Story at TMZ.com)
Flair, 67, just wrapped two weeks on the road traveling with his daughter Charlotte across Europe, then returned to the U.S. for Raw and Smackdown tapings.
Photos of Flair at the airport show him looking tired, obviously fatigued from the travel schedule. Flair is scheduled to be in Chicago on Sunday for the Payback PPV.
At his age he’s probably just suffering from exhaustion. WWE shouldn’t be sending a sixty-seven year old man out on the brutal WWE road schedule for any length of time.
Hell, they shouldn’t be sending kids in their twenties and thirties out on the current road schedule. It’s undoubtedly why so many of them are out with injuries right now.
