New tag team match added to WrestleMania 38

The New Day vs. Sheamus & Ridge Holland has been added to WrestleMania 38. WWE announced the news via social media on Monday morning. The match will occur night one on Saturday April 2.

Both teams have been embroiled in a week’s long feud with one another. Earlier this month, Holland severely injured Big E after a botched suplex outside the ring. Big E broke his neck after the move. Last year at WrestleMania, The New Day lost the Raw Tag Team Championship to A.J. Styles & Omos. Sheamus defeated Riddle for the WWE United States Championship.

Both nights of WrestleMania will air on Peacock. Matches on the show in addition to this tag match include Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship, Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship, A.J. Styles vs. Edge, Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin on the KO Show, and more.

WrestleMania week in WWE kicked off with Monday Night Raw and will culminate with the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony on Friday with NXT and the go-home episode of Smackdown in between. The Undertaker headlines the class of 2022 and will be inducted by Vince McMahon. NXT Stand and Deliver will take place on Saturday before night one. Stand and Deliver marks the first NXT outside of Florida since the pandemic began in 2020. Dolph Ziggler faces Bron Breakker in the Stand and Deliver main event.

CATCH-UP: Seth Rollins will be in action at WrestleMania 38, Vince McMahon to decide opponent
