NXT Championship changes hands at Roadblock special

Dolph Ziggler is the new NXT Champion.

On this week’s specialty Roadblock episode of NXT 2.0, Ziggler defeated Tommaso Ciampa and champion Bron Breakker in a triple threat match. Robert Roode interfered in the match and prevented Breakker from getting the pinfall after a Military Press Slam. Later, Ciampa went for the pump knee to Breakker, but missed when Roode pulled him out of the way. Instead, Ziggler hit a super kick on Breakker and covered for the win. This marks Ziggler’s first NXT Championship win and his first major singles title in nine years.

In addition to the championship match, this week’s show featured Grayson Waller vs. LA Knight in a Last Man Standing Match, women’s Dusty Cup matches, Tiffany Stratton vs. Fallon Henley, and Imperium vs. MSK for the Tag Team Championship.

Ziggler, Roode, Ciampa, and Breakker have been embroiled in a feud that has crossed into Monday Night Raw. Breakker made his Raw debut last night in a tag team match. Ziggler is a former NXT Champion and Breakker won the championship from him at the New Year’s Evil even on January 4.

Ziggler will now carry the NXT Championship into the Stand and Deliver event over WrestleMania weekend in Dallas. That show will air live on Peacock at noon on Saturday April 1 before night one of WrestleMania and is the first NXT event outside of Florida since the pandemic began in March of 2020. Matches for the event have not been announced.
