WWE announced on Sunday night that former New Japan star Shinsuke Nakamura has officially signed to the WWE NXT brand.
WWE included a photo of Nakamura posing with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in their announcement, which was timed right after the Fast Lane PPV concluded with an unpleasant ending for many viewers.
The formal announcement was made Monday morning in Japan after Nakamura visited the U.S. earlier this month. Nakamura toured WWE HQ in Connecticut and the Performance Center in Florida.
“Talent is the lifeblood of our company, and the signing of Shinsuke Nakamura further demonstrates NXT’s commitment to bringing in the best talent from all over the world,” said Triple H. “His explosive style will make an immediate impact to an already dynamic NXT men’s division.”
WWE already announced Nakamura’s first match during WrestleMania Weekend at the most-recent NXT TV tapings. (Contains SPOILERS)
