Two weeks out from Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross’s return to U.S. television calling New Japan Pro Wrestling, AXS TV is starting the big push for Ross’s debut broadcast on Friday, March 4.
AXS TV has released a 30-second commercial with clips of Ross and Josh Barnett calling action. On the first episode will be Ross calling Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Hirooki Goto for the IWGP Intercontinental Title.
AXS TV is also planning a special interview with Ross on March 4. Fellow TV broadcaster Mike Schiavello is bringing back his “The Voice Versus” series with Ross on March 4.
Also, the week of Ross’s TV return, AXS TV is planning a big media tour for Ross. AXS TV is looking beyond wrestling interviews to reach mainstream sports media to raise the profile of AXS’s New Japan series.
