SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
SHOW SUMMARY: In our latest episode of Alan4L’s ProWres Paradise, PWTorch columnist Alan4L is joined by Days of Thunder’s Lee Malone for a new edition of “What’s On the Telly?” In this monthly series, Alan and his guest will each pick an episode of wrestling TV from that month in the past and break it down. Lee may be an expert in bad wrestling TV shows, but we have some good ones to discuss this time around. First up is ECW on TNN from 2000 and a look at the “lost generation” of young wrestlers from the turn of the century, Don Callis as our Network representative (you do not want heat with The Network!), and an ultra reliable main event with a crazy finish. Plus Alan and Lee mull over the ECW on TNN format, presentation, and overall package. Does it get an unfairly bad rap? Then we venture back to 1987 and New Japan’s World Pro Wrestling episode from February 5th of that year. This was a huge show, which featured the big matches from Sumo Hall earlier that day. Nobuhiko Takada challenged Shiro Koshinaka for the IWGP Junior Title in a match which you all need to see, and Bam Bam Bigelow runs roughshod as a rookie on his first ever Japanese tour, main eventing with Antonio Inoki in a very memorable bout. No stone is left unturned on this month’s exploration of wrestling telly!
