Punk was a special commentator for the Cash Wheeler vs. Dax Harwood Owen Hart Tournament qualifying match. After the match, Tony Schiavone cued up a clip of Punk and Page staring each other down last week. Schiavone then revealed that the match had been made official.
Punk grabbed a microphone and cut a promo about his time in AEW thus far. He said he had questions as to whether or not he could really wrestle anymore, but that since he’s returned, he can clearly answer that questions with, “yes.” Punk went on to say that he can’t guarantee a title win at Double or Nothing, but he would guarantee that Adam Page would get everything Punk had.
Adam Page was not on Dynamite this week due to contracting COVID-19. Page has been the AEW World Champion since November of last year. Page defeated Kenny Omega to win the title, his second in AEW. Previously, Page was an AEW Tag Team Champion. Since becoming champion, Page has successful championship defenses against Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, and others.
Double or Nothing airs live on PPV on May 29 from Las Vegas, Nevada. Other matches for the event have not been revealed at this time.
