Josh Alexander is the new Impact Wrestling World Champion.

After a six month journey, Alexander defeated Moose in the main event of Rebellion to win the title. Alexander won the Impact World Title at Bound For Glory last year, but lost it to Moose minutes later.

Alexander walked to the ring with his son and controlled the match early on. During the match, Alexander connected with ten consecutive German suplexes. In the end, Alexander spiked an exposed turnbuckle and then was hit with a spear. Alexander kicked out of the spear, becoming the first man to ever kick out of the move. After, Moose powerbombed Alexander into another exposed turnbuckle and tried to go for another spear. This time, Alexander countered it with a kick and followed with the C4 Spike before covering for the win. Alexander celebrated with his family in the ring after the victory.

Josh Alexander is a two time Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champion and a former X-Division Champion. He’s also held various world titles on the independent circuit, including AAW in Chicago on one occasion. In addition to his Impact commitments and various indy bookings, Alexander began working with New Japan Pro Wrestling on New Japan Strong in June of last year.
