At Windy City Classic last weekend, Ishii defeated Minoru Suzuki. After the match, Kingston walked out and confronted him in the ring. Kingston had some kind words for Ishii, but ultimately challenged him to a match.
Ishii has a busy slate of matches this weekend. On AEW Rampage, he’ll face Adam Cole in an Owen Hart Foundation tournament qualifying match and on Saturday night he’s scheduled to wrestle Jonah at Impact Wrestling’s Rebellion PPV event.
In AEW, Eddie Kingston has been embroiled in a feud with Chris Jericho and The Jericho Appreciate Society. Kingston defeated Jericho at AEW Revolution. This week on AEW Rampage, Kingston will square of against Daniel Garcia.
Other matches for Capital Collision have not been made official. At Windy City Riot, Jon Moxley called out Hiroshi Tanahashi for a match after he defeated Will Ospreay. Tanahashi addressed Moxley’s challenge, but didn’t outright accept and the match is not official at this time.
New Japan made major news this week, announcing that they will partner with AEW on a supershow called Forbidden Door on June 26 in Chicago at the United Center. The show will feature top New Japan stars against top AEW stars.
