SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Tommaso Ciampa has reportedly been officially called up to the WWE main roster.

PWInsider is reporting that after Ciampa’s last match at NXT Stand and Deliver over WrestleMania weekend, Ciampa is set to continue with WWE on Monday Night Raw. He has recently appeared on Raw to further his feud with Dolph Ziggler and Bron Breakker over the NXT Championship. Last week on Raw, the NXT title was actually defended on the show with Breakker defeating Ziggler to earn his second championship with the company.

Ciampa has been a staple of NXT since joining the company in 2015. He and Johnny Gargano started on the brand as a tag team and his star power would grow from there. Ciampa and Gargano would go on to have one of the more personal feuds in NXT history. Both men headlined multiple NXT TakeOver events and had a special cinematic blowoff match to their feud near the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ciampa is a former two time NXT Champion and former NXT Tag Team Champion.

Ciampa’s second run as world champion in NXT kicked off the NXT 2.0 era of the company. He feuded with Bron Breakker in babyface vs. babyface program to kick things off and lost the title to him at this year’s NXT New Year’s Evil episode of television.

At NXT Stand and Deliver, Ciampa wrestled Tony D’Angelo. D’Angelo defeated Ciampa in what currently is his last match with the brand.
