Rick Boogs underwent a successful surgery this week to repair the torn quad he suffered at WrestleMania 38.

PWInsider is reporting that the procedure took place in Birmingham, Alabama and that the next step is to begin the rehab process. Boogs’ timetable to return is unknown, but the report indicates 6-12 months is likely.

Boogs teamed with Shinsuke Nakamura to take on The Usos in the opening match on night one of WrestleMania Saturday. The Smackdown Tag Team Championships were on the line. In the match, Boogs held both Usos on his shoulder in a fireman carry position and his knee appeared to buckle. Boogs grabbed his leg immediately and the match went to a finish soon after. After the match, medical personal stormed the ring. Boogs was then carried out of AT&T Stadium.

Boogs and Nakamura have been paired up since May of 2021. At the beginning, Boogs strictly played guitar for Shinsuke Nakamura’s entrance, but the relationship group where both men started tagging together in matches. Boogs made his debut with WWE on the NXT brand in 2017.
