Steve Austin returns at WrestleMania, wrestles first match in 19 years

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin made his WrestleMania return during the KO Show with Kevin Owens in the main event of WrestleMania 38. In a surprise move, Austin accepted a challenge from Owens for a no holds barred match and defeated him with a Stunner, winning his first match in 19 years.

Kevin Owens ran down Texas and Steve Austin in the lead up to WrestleMania. Owens called Austin out and invited him to WrestleMania in an effort to make sure he was a part of the biggest show of the year. In a social media video, Austin accepted the challenge and said he would open up a can of whoop ass on Owens.

Austin joined Owens for the KO Show and Owens continued to talk trash about Texas, calling the people of the state stupid. Owens then laid down the challenge. Austin took a minute to soak in the anticipatory cheers of support from the crowd, but then strong accepted the match with a crowd induced “hell yeah!”.

Austin and Owens brawled in the ring, ringside, on the stage, and in the crowd. Austin too a vertical suplex on the concrete floor and gave Owens two suplexes on the stage. Austin also drove Owens up the ramp in the four wheeler he drove to the ring for his entrance.

Owens hit a Stunner on Austin and made a cover, but Austin kicked out a two. After, Austin hit his own on Stunner on Owens and made the cover for the victory. After the match, Austin hit Owens with a second Stunner and kicked him out of the ring. He then drank loads of beer before giving Byron Saxton a Stunner and drinking more beer. Austin saluted the audience as the first night of WrestleMania 38 went off the air.

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin is a multiple time world champion and a member of the WWE Hall of Fame.
