WWE issues statement on Riddle sexual assault and rape accusations, says they are investigating the matter, no longer being hyped for tonight’s TV show

WWE issued a statement to PWTorch saying they are investigating the allegations of sexual assault and rape against Matt Riddle by Evolve valent and WWN social media correspondent Candy Cartwright on Twitter as part of the #SpeakingOut movement this week.

WWE’s statement follows:

“We take any allegation of this nature very seriously and are looking into the matter.”

Matt Riddle’s scheduled debut on Smackdown tonight is no longer being highlighted in the WWE.com preview this afternoon, but the article from June 12 announcing he’d debut tonight is still available after scrolling down several pageviews. His scheduled debut is also not being advertised on WWE’s Twitter feed today.
