[HOUR ONE]
(1) RICH SWANN vs. ETHAN PAGE vs. TREY MIGUEL vs. JAKE CRIST – Ultimate X match for the vacant IMPACT X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
A very hot match to start out the PPV, all competitors put on a show for the Nashville crowd to warm them up. A match very similarly paced a ladder match but there is a unique feel to this match watching the wrestlers pull themselves across the rope compared to a ladder. Swann got a lot of opportunities to look like a star in this match, probably making WWE officials wondering why they would let this talent go so soon. Crist .also got some good moments including delivering a tomb stone piledriver to Swann as he dove out of the ring and into Crist. Crist also took a huge spear from Page while he was dangling on the rope which looked awesome. In the end it is Swann who beats Miguel across the rope to win the title.
WINNER: Swann to become the New X Division Champion in 23:00.
(2) JORDYNNE GRACE & KIERA GRACE vs. ALLIE & SU YUNG
Overall a really good women’s tag team match that had a fairly decent story and character dynamic going into it. I feel like the face/heel dynamic would fit the characters more if the role were reversed between the teams but the ladies made it work. Everyone looked really good here. Grace has a real star presence to her thanks to her strength and surprising speed. Hogan is a spunky speedster that looked pretty sharp here. The team of Yung and Allie work really well together and make for a compelling duo. The creepy after match developments of Yung and Allie trying to put Hogan into a coffin only for Rosemary to appear from it was a decent surprise.
WINNERS: Allie & Su Yung via submission in 9:00.
(3) EDDIE EDWARDS vs. MOOSE – Falls Count Anywhere match
As Moose makes his way to th ring, he is attacked from behind by Edwards. Moose gets some moment back with some of the best power bombs delivered in a long time. Edwards is pretty strong on the sell including getting bombed onto the guard rails and making it look pretty brutal. Edwards gets his moment like diving onto moose from the upper balcony seats to Moose below him on the floor and later putting Moose through a propped up guard rail. Eddie gets a hand when Alisha Edwards runs in to hit Moose with a kendo stick a couple of times. Edwards hits Moose for the DDT and the win.
WINNER: Edwards via pinfall in 12:00.
[HOUR TWO]
(4) SAMI CALLIHAN with DAVE CRIST vs. WILLIE MACK
This match gets off to a fast start as Mack shows off his surprising athleticism against the smaller Callihan. Crist provides enough distractions outside the ring to help Callihan even the momentum. oVe does work very well as a heel faction as they always are able to draw good heat from the crowd. Mack mounts a strong comeback but is not enough to put away Callihan in a pretty decent match.
WINNER: Callihan in 10:00.
(5) ELI DRAKE vs. ABYSS – Monster’s Ball match
A solid hardcore match between the very unlikable heel and the legend. While Abyss has earned that legend status at TNA/IMPACT, he certainly looks pretty aged while factors into the intimidation. Despite this Abyss still moves pretty well and sells decently for a forty five year old wrestler. My favorite spots in extreme matches always includes bags of tacs because we can all sympthaze with that pain. Drake also looked strong with the chair shots and swinging the paddle. The paddle broke over Abyss’s head which was enough to put him down.
WINNER: Drake via pinfall in 13:00.
(6) LAX vs. THE LUCHA BROS. – Impact World Tag Team Title match
Easily the best match on the entire card which really is no surprise. These two teams are some of the best in the entire business and they put on another classic. Amazing and jaw dropping aerial moves with crisp and hard hitting tag team action. Plenty of back and forth action that moved at a solid pace.
WINNERS: LAX in 12:00.
[HOUR THREE]
(7) TAYA VALKYRIE vs. TESSA BLANCHARD – Impact Knockouts Title match
Gail Kim served as guest referee in this match and still looks like a million bucks. A decent match, not the strongest due to some sloppy spots from Valkyrie, but still entertaining. Blanchard is with out a doubt the best wrestler in the entire promotion and shines with star power every time she’s on screen. Its tough to watch as she goes against competition that seems obviously beneath her, but she’s such a strong worker she still makes it a compelling match. All the credit to her.
WINNER: Valkrie in 10:00 to capture the Impact Knockouts Title
(8) JOHNNY IMPACT vs. BRIAN CAGE – Impact World Title match
A solid main event that feature some fairly decent back and forth action that ended in controversy after Cage gets knocked out of the ring into some of Johnny’s friends and the ref wasn’t there to count the cover. Johnny reverses Cage’s top rope move into an inside cradle for a flukey win as Cage makes her was backstage in anger. The end left a bad taste in the crowds mouth and also in mine as well for what was a really good PPV despite the run in by Killer Cross in the end.
WINNER: Impact in 22:00 tor retain the Impact World Title.
Does it really help Impact to be showing replays with former talent?
