SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

WWE Monday Night Raw this week (9/2) drew a 1.70 rating, down from the prior week’s 1.79 rating It’s the lowest rating since July 29, which drew a 1.65 non-holiday rating. This week’s show aired on Labor Day, a national holiday in the United States.

Last year the Labor Day rating was 1.95, down from the prior week’s 2.02, so the drop-off this week was slightly more. Two years ago, the Labor Day rating was 2.09, down from the prior week’s 2.23, so the drop-off this week was slightly less.

The hourly viewership numbers followed a typical pattern with 2.638 million viewers in the first hour, 2.557 million in the second hour, a 2.326 million in the third hour. All three hourly viewership numbers are remarkably close to the 2019 average for each hour so far, so this was about as typical as Raw viewership pattern gets. The women’s tag match headlined Raw and held up well in terms of holding viewers, with a 312,000 first-to-third hour drop-off compared to a yearly average drop-off of 302,000.

  1. WWE should be thankful they have so many hardcore fans, Otherwise, they’d be in major trouble and have to add a second Saudi show. As for me, AEW can’t come soon enough. That and the NFL.
