SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
The July 2 episode of WWE Smackdown Live on USA Network drew a 1.39 rating among live and same-night-DVR viewers, down slightly from last week’s 1.40 and below the ten-weekly rolling average headed into the week of 1.43. Total viewership was 1.980 million, up from last week’s 1.921 million viewership.
One year ago, Smackdown drew a 1.45 rating and two years ago it drew a 1.59 rating.
In the key 18-49 adult demographic, Smackdown was ranked no. 1 on cable for the night with a 0.6 rating. There were three shows with 0.4 ratings below it, including “Christly Knows Best.” The Fox News program “Tucker Carlson Tonight” outdrew Smackdown by a million total viewers, but it barely made it in the top 25 rankings in the key 18-49 adult demo.
The Fox broadcast network last Friday night, the network and night of the week Smackdown will move to this fall, drew 1.61 and 1.16 million viewers, repeats of “First Responders Live” and “Master Chef,” so Smackdown easily outdrew summer reruns on Fox broadcast network with its current viewership.
On Monday night Raw’s three hours topped Monday cable rankings in the 18-49 demo with 0.8 ratings each hour. The next best ranked shows drew ratings of 0.7 and 0.6, and then it dropped off to a series of shows with 0.4 ratings.
Bragging that a show had ratings of a little over 1 and beat summer reruns, I have seen it all now. Every excuse in the book Keller. Hilarious.
