DALLAS, TEX.

(1) Street Profits defeated The Forgotten Sons to retain NXT Tag Team Championship. Great reaction for the Street Profits. A fun match with some great comedy spots.

(2) Jordan Myles defeated Cameron Grimes. Jordan Myles showed a lot of promise as a star. Cameron Grimes also had a great performance but struggles to maintain heel heat. A lot of fans were just excited to see f/k/a Trevor Lee and ACH going at it.

(3) Rachael Evers & Reina Gonzalez defeated Jessi Kamea & Lacey Lane. It didn’t feel like a lot of people were familiar with Reina or Rachael Evers. Reina cut a decent promo with some Spanish before the match and that really helped solidify how we should feel about her. Rachael Evers seemed to lose her footing when running the ropes at some point. They took two seconds and recovered nicely and kept going.

(4) Damian Priest defeated Raul Mendoza. Fun match, Raul won the hearts of everyone in the building and got a standing ovation after the match. Damian looked like NXT’s Baron Corbin 2.0.

-Great heel promo by Robert Strauss stating that no tag team would accept their open challenge. Matt Riddle came out to a great reaction. Riddle said that he did not come alone and Velveteen Dreams music hit to a massive pop.

(5) Matt Riddle & Velveteen Dream defeated The Outliers.  The audience was super-invested in the match because of the star power in the ring. All around great work and a fun way to head into intermission.

**Intermission**

-Kona Reeves cut a standard heel promo repeating his name over and over again. The audience kept chanting “RUFIO! RUFIO RU-FI-OOOOOOOO!” because he resembled the actor from Hook. They went on to do this the entire match. It was creative and great. Someone interrupted him and it was Kushida coming out to a Back to the Future esc. gimmick/entrance. He was dressed as Marty Mcfly.

(6) Kushida defeated Kona Reeves.

(7) Shayna Baszler defeated Mia Yim to retain NXT Women’s Championship. Great heat for Shayna and a great reaction fo Mia. They put on a fantastic match and the crowd really got behind Mia. After the match, she also received a standing ovation but Shayna ran back to spoil it. Boo.

(8) Adam Cole defeated Keith Lee to retain NXT Title. Match of the night. Both men received huge reactions. We all knew that Kieth Lee was one of our boys and could see that his family was in the front row. The security guards that were hardly watching the whole night were cringing and smiling at some of the bumps they were taking. As a wrestling fans they just looked like well executed bumps, but I could imagine that it was getting the classic “that HAD to be real and hurt” reaction from them. Keith Lee lost and cut a heart felt promo at the end of the show. It felt very Dusty-like. It was emotional, relatable, and I can’t wait to see what he does!

FINAL NOTES: After the show we waited by the stage door to give the wrestlers a final thank you before they left town. They all came out and were pretty friendly, but the Velveteen Dream (I think) came out with a hood and veil over his face Reminiscent of Michael Jackson out in public. He went straight to the bus and kept it on. I wasn’t mad about it. It made sense for the gimmick and respect that he’s willing to take it that far!
