SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

During game 5 of the Milwaukee Bucks vs. Toronto Raptors eastern conference finals playoff series tonight on TNT, announcer Marv Albert plugged AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV on May 25 with 28.4 seconds left in third quarter with Kawhi Leonard at the free throw line. A graphic was shown featuring Chris Jericho vs. Kenny Omega. Albert read a plug that mentioned the Omega vs. Jericho match and he mispronounced Jericho’s name. After plugging the Jericho vs. Omega main event, Albert also mentioned The Young Bucks would be appearing on the PPV as well. Albert mentioned that Double or Nothing would air on PPV and also plugged that it would stream on B/R Live.

Radican’s Analysis: AEW’s TV deal with WarnerMedia is already paying off huge. This is the kind of exposure that WWE would kill for. AEW just got their first PPV, Double or Nothing, plugged in front of millions of people during a hotly contested NBA eastern conference final playoff game.

It was surreal to hear the names Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks mentioned during telecast. I know The Young Bucks are basketball fans, so I’m sure they will enjoying seeing the clip of the Double or Nothing plug if they didn’t see it live. The only downside was that Albert didn’t pronounce Jericho’s name correctly even though he’s the most recognizable name in AEW.
