-The high note of the show to me might have been the pop Roman Reigns got at the beginning of the show. I was in the building for his Rumble win there, his title win against Sheamus, and every show in between. The reaction he got from this Philly crowd was HUGE. Very few boos and it truly felt like he was loved by the crowd.
-To my surprise, the Shield storyline seemed a little confusing with Dean Ambrose coming back so suddenly with Roman’s return, but the crowd ate that reunion up. Great pop for the backstage segments and when Dean rushed the ring to help the boys. This should give Fastlane a nice boost with the added six-man match.
-Triple H’s promo was one of the more passionate ones we’ve seen in recent memory and the crowd seemed to sit on every word he was saying. As he continued to add layers on this story with Batista, the crowd got more hot as it went along, culminating with the pop at the end of his segment. Nothing too surprising from Hunter. He always delivers.
-The most confusing part of the night came with the end segment. Everything seemed fine until Ronda Rousey popped up. Side bar: One thing that seemed to derail any momentum a few segments had going was the new way of production that’s been on shows recently where we get a little snippet/teaser of what’s coming next, commercial break, come back to right where we left off with the teaser. That was the case here. The crowd really popped when Ronda was shown on the big screen as she was entering the arena. Going to break there let the crowd cool a little, which was sparked somewhat when Ronda’s music hit and got in the ring. I’ve heard from a few fans around me, and I agree, that it was very difficult understanding what Ronda was saying in the arena, with how quickly and frantic she sounded on the mic. I honestly couldn’t tell you what all she yelled at Stephanie leading up to the beatdown.
-As the beatdown occurred, the crowd just seemed confused. Some didn’t like how Becky was being beaten down, some (lots of kids) were cheering Ronda on, and others (myself included) were pretty silent as we were simply confused over what they’re doing with this story. It seems like Ronda is finally turning into the form she should’ve been in for the past year. The bad ass who does what she believes in and doesn’t conform to the authority above her.
-Lastly, Elias was money. Classic heel heat with a passionate crowd, led to one of the louder parts of the night. The crowd boo’d very loudly after every one of his lines.
-I had to jet out right when the show went dark so I’m a little unsure if anything happened afterwards.
