SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

If Undertaker wrestles on WrestleMania 35 this year, would you like to see him wrestle?

Would you prefer to see him against another veteran or legend, another monster, a smaller young wrestler, or a main roster heavyweight?

Let us know your top pick and explain why you think it’d be either good for business or good for the Undertaker opponent or good for fans (or all of the above!). You can also list a few back-up candidates and also who you absolutely don’t want to see him wrestle! And if you DO NOT want him to wrestle again, explain why.

Below are the first batch of reader picks…

PWTorch reader Jay W. writes…

Aliester Black without a shadow of a doubt.

PWTorch reader Jennifer Newsome writes…

Since abyss has left TNA, I would like to see a six-man tag team match with the Undertaker & Kane & Abyss against Brock Lesnar & Braun Strowman & Sting since there are rumors he is in negotiations to  come back and he wants to wrestle the Undertaker.

PWTorch reader Willie Sumner writes…

I would choose Aleister Black.  Taker needs to put over a young star.  Since Black is a “dark” character, I feel it would be fitting for Taker to pass the torch to him.  I wouldn’t necessarily announce the match and maybe have Taker give a retirement speech at Wrestlemania and in his words say something along the lines of “no one can ever take the darkness from me” and then Black’s music hits and they have an epic stare down which leads to Taker wanting a match right then and there.  After defeating Taker, Black would respectfully acknowledge Taker’s greatness and leave Taker in the ring for what would be a deafening send off.

Sting.

PWTorch reader Andrew Gambill writes…

The Undertaker was the first wrestler I ever saw and has always been my favorite wrestler. I got into wrestling in the late 2000s before the two Shawn Michaels matches. I only watched for a few years, but got back into wrestling because of Undertaker’s loss to Brock Lesnar. All this being said, I think it’s time for Undertaker to ride off into the sunset.

If this is to be the Undertaker’s last match, I think he should go out losing to Drew McIntyre. Undertaker has taken two high profile losses already at WrestleMania, so if he’s going to lose again I think it should be for the last time. I don’t think I need to convince anyone that Drew is the kind of guy you can build a company around.  He seemed to play second fiddle throughout most of 2018, and if 2019 is really going to be his year I can’t think of a better way to start that year off by retiring the Undertaker.

If Undertaker is still going to keep going for a few more years, I think Baron Corbin is the best choice. I think Corbin is quickly proving his worth as an upper-mid-card heel who can take a loss to Undertaker and not lose much credibility.

Now it’s your turn. Who do you want to see wrestle Undertaker at WrestleMania this year, and why? Do you think it’d be best for WWE’s business, or Undertaker, or the wrestler he faces, or just your personal pick, or all of the above. Send your pick to pwtorch@pwtorch.com.

  1. Think undertaker been screwed bad they should left him as undefeated at wrestle mania now her has no purpose in wrestling he should fight Bobby leasy win a title boost his ratings

  2. Honestly think the demon fin Baylor would make a good choice if taker is hanging it up. Just so fans get to see the demon 1 more time. If not sting would be a viable option with the wwe vs wcw angle.
