-NJPW announced during the pre-show for Wrestle Kingdom 13 that they will run two nights of Wrestle Kingdom in 2020. The shows will take place on The Tokyo Dome on Jan. 4 and Jan. 5 2020. Usually NJPW runs New Years Dash at Korakuen Hall with a storyline heavy show, but this is a departure from that tradition.
-NJPW announced several other events for 2019 abroad including the first night of G1 Climax 29 taking place on July 6 in Dallas, Tex. The tournament will then return to Japan and begin on July 13 in Tokyo. G1 Climax will end on Aug. 12, 13, and 14 at Budokan Hall in Tokyo.
-NJPW will run their first major event on thier own in the U.K. in 2019. Another notable A show at The Cooper Box in London, England, which holds around 7,000 fans was announced by the company during Wrestle Kingdom 13. The show will take place on August 31.
-A third U.S. date has been added for NJPW’s The New Beginning tour in the U.S., which will run at the same time as The New Beginning events in Japan. A third show will take place in Nashville, Tenn. on Feb. 2. Already announced were shows in Los Angeles on Jan. 30 and Charlotte on Feb. 1.
-NJPW issued a statement on their website saying Kota Ibushi suffered a concussion during his match with Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom 13. It isn’t known when Ibushi suffered the concussion during the match, but NJPW announced it isn’t believed to be a serious concussion.
-NJPW announced the paid attendance for Wrestle Kingdom 13 at 38,162. Last year, Wrestle Kingdom 12 drew 34, 995 paid. The figure for Wrestle Kingdom 13 is way up from 2017 when the company drew 26,192 fans to Wrestle Kingdom 11.
