-PWTorch reached out to Ring of Hononr sources for comment on why their proposed date at Madison Square Garden fell through. Sources tell PWTorch that Ring of Honor had a deal in place with MSG and after it was pulled at the last minute after WWE communicated with MSG. ROH’s plan to run MSG leaked when Sinclair COO Chris Ripley prematurely announced it in an interview with the Baltimore Business Journal. As Joe Koff indicated during his interview with Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com regarding ROH running at MSG, things are now in the hands of the ROH legal department.
ROH’s plan was to run during “SuperCard of Honor,” as is tradition, during WrestleMania weekend. ROH sources tell PWTorch whether they end up at MSG or somewhere else, managment’s plan is to bring ROH fans the biggest SuperCard of Honor ever. ROH’s goal remains to bring SuperCard of Honor to as big of a live audience as possible.
-Austin Aries has been officially added to the ROH Best in the World PPV lineup for June 29 in Baltimore. Based on recent events on ROH TV it appears he will likely face Kenny King, but nothing has been announced officially by the company yet.
-ROH’s first two events from their first year in 2002 are now available for Honor Club members. Honor Club members can now watch “The Era of Honor Begins” from Feb 25, 2002 and “Round Robin Challenge” challenge from March 30, 2002 are now up on VOD.
ROH has also added two compilations to the Honor Club VOD library. Kevin Steen: Ascension To The Top” and C.M. “Punk: The Second City Saint” are now also available for all Honor Club members to watch on VOD. ROH’s plan is to keep adding to their library as time goes on with compilations and classic ROH events.
