  • How will Aleister Black respond to the NXT Champion’s verbal onslaught?
  • William Regal promises an announcement that will change the landscape of NXT.
  • Dusty Rhodes Semifinals: Authors of Pain vs. the Street Profits.
  • Dusty Rhodes Semifinals: SANITY vs. Roderick Strong & Pete Dunne.

“THEN THERE WERE FOUR”

While certainly not as expansive as it’s been in previous years, the Dusty Rhodes classic has been a reminder that the NXT tag division is something to keep an eye on. The Authors of Pain (who won this tournament back in 2016) have stuck around and muscled there way deep into the final four. The Street Profits surprisingly enough were able to upset Heavy Machinery thanks to Montez Ford being in the right place at the right time. The Profits have already crossed paths with Akam and Rezar once in a #1 contenders match for the tag belts, and if you recall, things didn’t necessarily go very well for them. Tonight, they look for revenge.

The other semifinal will be between the former tag team champions SANITY (consisting of members Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe) and the surprising duo of Roderick Strong and the United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne. Dunne and Strong formed this alliance after a fantastic competitive matchup against one another some weeks back, and their mutual hatred for the Undisputed. They were able to best Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch in a stiff hard hitting affair last week, but they will have their hands full with the much more synchronized SANITY this evening. Young and Wolfe have been the only team that’s been able to topple the AoP, mainly because of their faction playing the numbers game. Can SANITY bounce back to the big time, or will the Brit and the Messiah surprise us again?

“AN ANGRY EL IDOLO”

In the NXT title scene, Aleister Black prepares to put on a cap on his yearlong run of dominance by squaring up with current champion Andrade Cien Almas, who if you recall, was Black’s first opponent when he debuted at Takeover Orlando. Almas was not too happy about the treatment Black showed for his manager Zelina Vega, and last week attacked poor Raul Mendoza just so he could steal some promo time and call Aleister a piece of $@#Z. According to tonight’s preview Black will be on hand to respond to the champs dangerous vulgarity. Will Andrade show up as well? Guess you’ll have to tune in to find out.

“ALL THE BEST”

-NXT women’s champion Ember Moon scored a much-needed victory over Aliyah seven days ago on her road to defending against Shayna Baszler at Takeover New Orleans. Shayna was on commentary for said match, scouting out Ember and possibly figuring out a way to counter Moon’s deadly Eclipse into her signature rear-naked choke. The tension between both women has certainly escalated since their encounter in Philadelphia, and Shayna’s bullying has reached ultimate heat levels, but with only 10 days away from another title shot, expect Shayna to be fully focused.

-NXT’s General Manager William Regal is quite good at his job. Good in the sense that he is equally fair to everyone on the developmental roster, and that he generally wishes to see the yellow and black brand grow into something special. Tonight, he promises an announcement that could alter the entire landscape of NXT, hopefully for the better. Even if this news was already spoiled for you, you really don’t want to miss this.

-What of Ricochet, EC3, and War Machine? We know that they’ve all made their debut on the NXT house circuit, but when will they grace our screens on Wednesday nights? Could they have anything to do with the massive announcement that William Regal will make?

As always spoilers are out for this show. Be a good fan, and watch anyway.
