SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

-WWE has announced “Road Dogg” Brian James will induct Jeff Jarrett into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. They worked together as an act during Jarrett’s most prominent phase in the WWF as “Double J” Jeff Jarrett with the lip synching controversy.

-Former WWE creative team member Court Bauer’s Major League Wrestling has secured a national cable/satellite TV deal. The program will premiere on beIN network (aren’t we done with awkward capitalization on name brands yet?) on Apr. 12. It will air every Friday night at 8 ET with a replay at 11 ET. Get familiar with the product by checking out our latest report on their live event: 2/8 MLW in Orlando, Fla.: Austin Aries, Low Ki, Matt Riddle, Jeff Cobb, ACH, Sami Callihan, MVP

-Ronda Rousey talked about her transition to WWE in an interview on ESPN’s “First Take” today. She said she was motivated to sign with WWE because it’s a dream she always had, and she decided to try it before she and her husband have kids. She said she’ll do this “before being barefoot and pregnant for a couple of years.” She said she’s been working with an acting coach for five years. Things got tense when Max Kellerman asked her about people’s focus on her losses in MMA instead of her wins. Read a detailed recap at ProWrestling.net HERE.

-WWE posted a Rousey training video from the WWE Performance Center. In the video, she says she doesn’t need motivation to work out hard. She said it’s grueling, but she thrives in this environment. She said she will surprise a lot of people and exceed expectations “and have a surprise on my face the whole time, and if not, I’m probably suppressing it.” She laughed when asked if Stephanie is training as hard as her.

-Ronda got prickly again when her MMA career was brought up, and completely misunderstood a question on another interview when she was asked if she might “go back in time to MMA.” She thought she was being asked about time travel, whereas the host clearly mean, “Might you, in time, go back to MMA?” rather than “Travel back in time and fight in MMA.” It’s funny, but also a bit revealing about Ronda’s personality and, in particular, her sensitivity to questions about MMA in general.
