RAW PREVIEW
MARCH 5, 2018
MILWAUKEE, WISC. AT BMO HARRIS BRADLEY CENTER
By Joey Galizia (@RamJam89), PWTorch contributor
ANNOUNCED BY WWE.COM
- Nia Jax and Asuka clash once again with Asuka’s undefeated streak on the
line - How will Ronda Rousey repay Triple H and Stephanie McMahon?
- Why didn’t Lesnar confront Reigns, and will we be hearing from the advocate
Paul Heyman? - Who will step up to challenge the Miz at WrestleMania for the I.C. title?
“THE LONG ROAD OF COMPLAINT”
In an interesting turn, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar failed to show up to
confront his WrestleMania opponent Roman Reigns last week on Raw. Whether this
is due to Brock’s contract coming to an end or his interest in resigning with the UFC
the only thing that’s certain is that it has left a sour taste in the mouths of the
wrestle verse. Roman Reigns is pretty sour as well, using the no-show to call Brock a
piece of crap and further progress the idea that no matter what, he will be standing
tall in New Orleans. Big words from the Big Dawg. Lesnar is unfortunately not
scheduled to appear in Wisconsin this evening, but that doesn’t mean that advocate
Paul Heyman, who has also been silent, won’t be present to set the record straight.
Expect some type of advancement in this very interesting story tonight, and prepare
to hear a chorus of boos from the fans who just can’t like anything.
“DEFINITION OF INSANITY”
It’s pretty clear at this point that Nia Jax is the future title contender for Alexa Bliss.
Her vast improvement in the ring and on the microphone has given Jax a confidence
that is almost scary considering she’s already a very intimidating presence.
However, her constant attempt to chop away at the legendary tree known as Asuka
will not do her any favors since the Empress so clearly has her number, and has had
it since they started feuding back in NXT. The Glamazon and the undefeated one will
once again clash in singles action this evening. Will this be the upset that gets Nia a
title shot, or will Asuka sweep the floor with her and jump to the much more
“competitive” Smackdown Live?
“I CAME TO PLAY”
-Asuka’s MMC partner has his problems to deal with. Last Monday The Miz ate a pair
of losses back-to- back to Seth Rollins and Finn Balor, clearly establishing both men
as title challengers for Miz’s prestigious I.C. belt. However, with Braun Strowman
and Elias still with nothing to do at the show of shows, don’t be surprised if this
match gets turned into a fatal 5-way on April 8 th . As for tonight, the Awesome One
will most likely be complaining to General Manager Kurt Angle for putting him in
this situation in the first place.
-Elsewhere in the tag division, The Bar’s Cesaro and Sheamus are sitting
comfortably at the top as tag champions, recently vanquishing Titus WorldWide in
an easy sweep of matches. The Club’s Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have a small
win streak building up. Could a rematch of last year’s Royal Rumble title match be
on the card for Mania? What about The Revival, who haven’t even received a fair
shot yet since being added to the main roster? All I’m certain of is the only person
with hair out of all these teams is Wilder and Sheamus.
-The cruiserweight division prepares for round two of their tournament to crown a
new champion, but they still can’t seem to translate any of this onto Monday nights
so expect limited purple brand appearances.
-Surprisingly, John Cena is scheduled to appear in Milwaukee this evening. It was
seven days ago that the 16x champion informed the wrestle-verse that he would be
going through Smackdown Live in an attempt to make it onto the Wrestlemania
card. He would then go on to defeat WWE Champion A.J. Styles and earn his way into
the Fastlane main event. Is Cena kicking down all doors and showing up everywhere
until he is guaranteed to make the cut? Apparently. Fingers crossed that a certain
Samoan destroyer recuperates fast enough to challenge the man who cannot be
seen.
-Another scheduled appearance is the most recent superstar signed Ronda Rousey.
The former MMA star had quite a showing at the Elimination Chamber and cut a
strong promo last week to the despite of said wrestling fans who hate everything.
The power couple of Stephanie and Triple-H would respond to Rousey’s Chamber
actions when Aitch sucker punched Kurt on his ass. Angle has clearly been a major
key (in storyline) of getting Ronda to the WWE, and it’s setting things up nicely for a
mixed tag in New Orleans. Will they make it official tonight? Guess you’ll just have to
tune in to find out.
Five weeks until the SHOW OF SHOWSSSS. You watching?
