-Impact Wrestling on Pop TV last night drew 365,000, well above any recent number. The last viewership higher was July 13, 2017. It was 103,000 above last week’s rating and well above the 290,500 ten-week rolling average headed into the week. A year ago, Impact drew 288,000. Next week is a key number to see if this was an aberration or a sign of some increased interest manifesting under the latest creative team.
-Impact Wrestling announced today a co-promotion with Lucha Underground set for WrestleCon weekend (Apr. 5-8) in New Orleans, La. They have announced these wrestlers so far: Austin Aries, Alberto El Patron, Eli Drake, Moose, Eddie Edwards, LAX, oVe and Sami Callihan, Trevor Lee, “The Machine” Brian Cage, Allie, Rosemary, Taya Valkyrie, and “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner from Impact, plus Pentagon, Fenix, King Cuerno, Drago, Aerostar, Killshot, Matanza, The Mack, and Jack Evans from LU. The press release details the event as follows: “The stars of Impact Wrestling will face off against the stars of Lucha Underground on Friday, April 6, starting at 9:00 p.m. CT at The Sugar Mill (1021 Convention Center Blvd.) during what will be the biggest weekend of the year in professional wrestling. Impact Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground will stream live exclusively on Impact Wrestling’s Twitch channel (www.twitch.tv/impactwrestling). The channel will feature over 10 hours of original daily content for three days during WrestleCon weekend, including exclusive podcasts and behind-the-scenes footage. “We are excited and honored to expand our partnership with AAA and Twitch for this groundbreaking co-promotion with Lucha Underground,” said Ed Nordholm, president of IMPACT Wrestling. “Extensive coverage from WrestleCon will stream live all weekend on IMPACT Wrestling’s official Twitch channel as fans will have the opportunity to interact with their favorite stars.”
-The NWA has released a new “Ten Pounds of Gold” video visiting Nick Aldis in the United Kingdom where he faced seven challengers in nine days and retained his NWA World Hvt. Title each time. The NWA describes this video: “In this episode of Ten Pounds of Gold, we follow the champion as he returns to his hometown of King’s Lynn and the village of Docking where he grew up. From the shores of Exmouth, Nick Aldis explains why he decided to bring the Ten Pounds of Gold back to these venues in the United Kingdom.
