SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
-In our WWE Elimination Chamber poll, the show is largely getting mediocre reviews, with 40 percent giving it a 3 out of 5, and only 31 percent thumbs up compared to 28 percent thumbs down.
-The Young Bucks will face The Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi) in a tag team dream match on the March 25 New Japan event in Long Beach, California for the NJPW “Strong Style Evolved” event. It airs LIVE on AXS TV in the United States and on-demand outside of the U.S. Also now on the line-up: Jushin Thunder Liger vs. Rey Mysterio is a dream match between two legendary cruiserweights and Hangman Page will challenge Jay White for the IWGP U.S. Title.
-Impact Wrestling closed out the month of February with a 275,000 average viewership, down from the 287,000 it averaged in February 2017. The viewership for the Feb. 22 episode last week was 262,000, the lowest of the year and down from 300,000 the prior week. The 2018 average through eight weeks is 293,875, up from the 2017 average through eight weeks of 287,625.
-Nia Jax congratulated Alexa Bliss for going to WrestleMania, but added: “Guess what? I am too!” That lends credence to the idea of Asuka announcing she is going after Charlotte’s Smackdown-based title at WrestleMania, leaving Nia to potentially “earn” the challenger slot against Bliss (meaning one of the two would likely turn babyface, and after Bliss’s promo “swerve” last night, it’d point to Jax, assuming WWE turned either officially and decisively).
